This was a good article. I too have had two c-sections, the first of which was unplanned and very traumatic. I was about two weeks overdue and my son showed no signs of coming out. He was comfortable, I was miserable. I was set to have my labor induced, went in and nothing miraculas happened. For four days I was given Pitocin, Cervidal, and had my water broken by the Dr., I was miserable! I was given an epidural and I slept, when I woke up I felt so much pressure. I wanted to push! The nurse came in and said I was 9 centimeters and I could start the process of getting my baby out. But then another came in and said "oh no she is only 7" Finally the Dr. came in and said "nope, only 5. Your getting a C-section" I was so disappointed, yet very very drained and emotionally spent. So my husband and I just gave up, we consented to the c-section and my son was born. When it was done, I vomited, was very ill for a few hours and my 8 lb 15 1/2 oz baby boy was very hungry. He could not wait for me to get better to put him on the breast and so the nurses gave him a bottle! Needless to say, I felt cheated, and even more so 2 yrs later at the birth of my daughter. She was a planned c-section. Not even allowed to try.
